Christ's school 75/80 set, Shettima, Fayemi Aiyedatiwa,Mimiko others celebrate Pa Fasoranti at Centenary celebration

On the joyous and historic occasion of the centenary celebration of our revered former Principal, Chief Dr. Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, OFR, CFR, the Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti 1975/80 Set, under the distinguished leadership of our President, Chief Mrs. Wuraola Adopoju, Retired Comptroller General of Immigration, heartily joins millions of admirers across Nigeria and beyond to celebrate an extraordinary icon, patriot, mentor and father.

Pa Fasoranti is not just a former principal to us; he is a builder of lives, a moulder of destinies and a shining example of discipline, integrity and purposeful leadership. Many decades after leaving the classrooms and corridors of Christ’s School, the lessons he taught us continue to guide our conduct, shape our values and influence our contributions to society.

As students under his leadership, we encountered a man who believed that education was beyond academics. He taught character, responsibility, honesty and discipline. His famous words, “When gold rusts, what will iron do?” remain permanently engraved in our hearts as a timeless reminder that leadership must always be rooted in integrity and moral uprightness.

At Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti, Pa Fasoranti stood tall as a disciplinarian with compassion, a teacher with vision and a principal whose commitment to excellence transformed lives. He inspired students not merely to succeed, but to become responsible citizens and worthy ambassadors of society. Today, members of the 1975/80 Set, spread across different professions and sectors, proudly acknowledge that part of our success story was shaped by the enduring values instilled in us by this remarkable educator.

As we celebrate his 100th birthday, we also celebrate a life of uncommon courage, sacrifice and selfless service to humanity. Beyond education, Pa Fasoranti distinguished himself as a respected elder statesman, foremost leader of Afenifere and relentless advocate for justice, democracy and good governance in Nigeria. Through turbulent seasons in our nation’s history, he remained steadfast, principled and fearless in defending truth and fairness.

The tribute paid to him by former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, perfectly captures the essence of the man we honour today. Dr. Fayemi described Pa Fasoranti as a towering symbol of integrity, a father figure, mentor and moral compass whose convictions never shifted with convenience. He celebrated him as “an Awoist to the core,” a man wholly committed to justice, equity, restructuring and the ideals of true federalism. Indeed, Pa Fasoranti’s unwavering dedication to democratic values and the progress of the Yoruba people has earned him a permanent place in Nigeria’s moral history.

We, the Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti 1975/80 Set, proudly identify with these noble attributes. We are witnesses to his discipline, humility, firmness and deep love for humanity. His life remains a rich lesson to younger generations that true greatness is built not on wealth or power, but on integrity, consistency, sacrifice and service.

Under the leadership of our President, Chief Mrs. Wuraola Adopoju, Retired Comptroller General of Immigration, we salute a man whose influence transcends generations. We thank God for preserving him to witness this remarkable milestone and for blessing Nigeria with such an uncommon statesman and educator.

As Pa Fasoranti clocks 100 glorious years, we pray that Almighty God will continue to grant him peace, sound health, strength and joy. May his enduring legacy continue to inspire Nigeria, the Yoruba nation and generations yet unborn.

Happy 100th Birthday to our beloved Principal, mentor, father and living legend, Chief Dr. Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, OFR, CFR.

Signed:

Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti 1975/80 Set
