Join hands to tackle insecurity - Tasks RT.Hon. Oladiji
Stakeholders across the country have been enjoined to join hands with government at all levels with the aim of stemming down insecurity across the length and breadth of the country.
Speaking at Ondo town, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji a.k.a Landmark made the plea at the launch of Funke Fadeni Foundation held at the civic centre Ondo.
The Speaker noted that the issue of security is a joint effort of all the stakeholders in the society, saying that it should not just be left alone at the feet of government.
" I am imploring all stakeholders to see the security of the nation is our joint efforts,not to be left alone at feet of government as sole responsibility," Oladiji noted.
He commended the effort of the convener of the Funke Fadeni Foundation for deeming it fit to train some percentage of youths in the area as a right path at stamping out insecurity in the areas.
The Speaker posited that for the foundation to have trained over thousand youths in various skills and with a promise at funding the youths is laudable effort that will go a long way at stemming the trend of crime amongst the teeming youth and encourage entrepreneurship and job creation in the society and also boost the economy capabilities.
The convener of the foundation, Engr. Koleola Fadeni, noted that the foundation is not geared towards any political leaning, but with the real intentions at helping the needy in the society.
"My mother when alive was a great philanthropist to a fault. She does not mind at giving all she has to make sure others are comfortable. And we the children are taking que from her footsteps," he said.
He informed that the foundation has been on for over a decade ago helping people outside his state of origin, having a feeling that it is time to bring the gesture home.
He said over 1,000 youths have been trained in their various chosen skills ranging from technology experts, hand skills, with a promise to equip all the trained youths with necessary materials needed for their career skills at the expense of the foundation.
