heartfelt condolence message on behalf of the 1975/1980 Set of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, issued by its President, Chief Mrs. Wuraola Caroline Adepoju, in honour of their former Principal, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti. 75/80 SET OF CHRIST’S SCHOOL, ADO-EKITI, MOURNS FORMER PRINCIPAL, PA REUBEN FASORANTI, AT 100 A TRIBUTE TO A DISTINGUISHED EDUCATOR, PATRIARCH AND ELDER STATESMAN The President and members of the 1975/1980 Set of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, have received with profound sadness the news of the passing of our beloved former Principal, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, a distinguished educationist, revered Yoruba leader and elder statesman, who departed this world at the remarkable age of 100. On behalf of all members of our cherished set, I express our heartfelt condolences to the Fasoranti family, the people of Akure Kingdom, the government and people of Ondo State, the Afenifere family and all Nigerians mourning the departure of this illustrious son of Yorubaland. Pa Fasoranti was more than a former Principal to us; he was a teacher, a mentor and a father figure whose life exemplified discipline, integrity, wisdom and an unwavering commitment to the development of the younger generation. His years of service in education helped shape lives, instil enduring values and lay a solid foundation for the future of many students who passed through his tutelage. As we reflect on his remarkable journey, we are reminded that true greatness is not measured merely by the number of years one spends on earth, but by the lives touched, the values imparted and the positive footprints left behind. Pa Fasoranti distinguished himself in all these respects. Beyond the classroom, he rose to become one of the most respected voices in Yorubaland and Nigeria, championing good governance, justice, accountability and the welfare of the people. His leadership within the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, further demonstrated his commitment to the ideals of fairness, democracy and national development. For us, members of the 1975/1980 Set of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, his passing is deeply personal. We have lost a father whose influence formed part of our formative years and whose exemplary life remains a source of inspiration. Although death has taken him away from our midst, the lessons he taught, the values he upheld and the memories he left behind will continue to live in our hearts. At 100, Pa Fasoranti could look back on a life of remarkable accomplishments, service and sacrifice. His departure marks the end of an extraordinary chapter, but his legacy will endure in the generations he mentored, the causes he championed and the countless lives he influenced. As we mourn this painful loss, we take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life devoted to humanity and the greater good of society. We pray that Almighty God will grant his soul eternal rest and give his immediate family, the Afenifere family, the people of Akure and Ondo State, and all those who mourn him the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Pa Fasoranti lived a life of purpose, service and honour. His light may have dimmed on earth, but his legacy will continue to shine across generations. On behalf of the 1975/1980 Set of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, we bid our beloved former Principal a peaceful farewell. Rest well, our revered father, teacher and mentor. Your exemplary life will remain an enduring lesson to us all. Signed: Chief Mrs. Wuraola Caroline Adepoju President, 1975/80 Set Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti
